Where to start
Look in museum shops, bookshops and design-led shopping areas. Official museum shops are a better starting point when you specifically want licensed museum merchandise.
Before you pay
- Test a pen and check whether refills are available at home.
- Inspect paper, binding and print quality. Buy a design you would use, not just a recognizable logo.
- Check the seller and product label if official licensing matters to you. “Museum-inspired” is not the same as museum-authorized.
When to walk away
Skip bulky sets with lots of filler. Compare how many useful items you are actually getting.
Getting it home
Keep paper flat in a folder. Protect ink bottles against leaks and check your airline’s liquid rules.
