Privacy Policy

What information we use, why we use it, and the choices you have.

Effective 16 September 2026 · Last updated 16 September 2026

1. Who is responsible

Li Yun Zhe, operating as Carry China in China, is responsible for the personal information we control through shopchinaguide.com. Contact 20774807@qq.com for privacy questions or requests.

Before launch: Our free guides and samples are available now. Paid purchases, subscriptions and email sign-ups are not open. The purchase provisions below describe the policy that will apply when sales open; viewing this website does not place an order or start a subscription.

2. Information used by the website today

  • Your shortlist and checklist: saved in local storage in your own browser. These selections are not sent to Carry China, and do not sync between devices.
  • Requests to the site: our hosting and network providers may process IP addresses, requested pages, browser information, request times and security logs to deliver and protect the website.
  • Support messages: if you email us, we receive your email address, the name you provide, your message and any attachments you choose to send. Please do not send passwords, payment card numbers or identity documents.

We currently have no user accounts, email sign-up form, advertising tracker or audience analytics tool. Reading or downloading a sample does not add you to a mailing list. Fonts and images are hosted with this website rather than loaded from an advertising service.

3. Browser storage and your choices

The saved-list features use local storage so your choices remain when you return in the same browser. You can remove individual saved items, clear site data in your browser, or use the button below. The data remains on that browser until you remove it or the browser clears it. Disabling storage may prevent saved lists from working; the editorial guides remain readable.

4. Paid services when they launch

For a paid purchase, we expect to receive the buyer’s email address, purchased product, order reference, amount and currency, payment status and subscription status. We will use these details to deliver the guide or newsletter, administer access, answer support requests and reconcile orders. Card details will be entered with the payment provider; Carry China will not receive full payment card numbers or card security codes.

Waffo will process checkout and billing information as Merchant of Record under its own privacy notice. It determines how it uses payment information for its legal, tax, security and payment obligations. We will link the applicable notice from the checkout. This website does not currently transmit purchase or subscriber data to Waffo.

A separate email delivery provider will be used to deliver paid editions. We will identify that provider and update this policy before collecting subscriber information or opening sales. Paid editorial emails are part of the service you order. We will seek separate permission for optional promotional emails where required, and include a way to stop those messages. An email unsubscribe does not itself stop recurring billing; see subscription cancellation.

5. Why we use information

We use information only as needed to operate and secure the website, respond to requests and, when available, fulfil purchases and legal obligations. Where a law requires a legal basis, these purposes rely on our legitimate interests in providing a secure site and support, steps requested before a contract and performance of a purchase contract, applicable legal obligations, or consent for optional marketing where required. You may withdraw consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

6. Providers and international processing

The site uses OpenAI Sites hosting and Cloudflare network services. Support email is handled through QQ Mail. These providers process information needed to provide their services, and may operate in countries other than yours. As the operator is based in China, support messages sent to us may be accessed and stored in China. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect rights and security.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer we control, we will use the required safeguards before making that transfer. External links have their own operators and privacy policies; this policy does not govern those sites.

7. How long information is kept

Browser lists stay under your control as described above. We aim to delete routine support correspondence within 12 months after the issue is closed, unless it remains necessary for an ongoing dispute, security issue or legal requirement. Hosting and network logs are retained under the providers’ operational policies; we do not set a fixed deletion period for those provider-controlled logs. When paid sales open, order and accounting records will be kept for the periods required by applicable law, and delivery information only as long as needed for the service or a related unresolved issue.

8. Your rights and security

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or a copy of your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw marketing consent. Email 20774807@qq.com with your request. We may ask for proportionate information to verify that it relates to you, but will not ask for your password. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may also complain to the relevant data protection authority.

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we control, but no internet service is completely secure. This publication is not directed at children under 18 and paid purchases are intended for adults. If a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it.

9. Policy updates

We will update this page when our practices change, including before launching payment or email collection. Material changes affecting subscribers will be communicated through the available contact channel. The effective date below identifies this version.
