What to buy

Tech, with a checklist

A lower shelf price is only useful if the device works at home and you can get it serviced. Electronics deserve the most careful comparison.

Look for

Cameras, audio accessories and devices whose exact regional model you have checked. Xiaomi and DJI are examples to investigate, not blanket recommendations.

Where to start

Start with official retail channels. Huaqiangbei in Shenzhen is interesting for exploring electronics, but market stalls differ in product condition, authorization and after-sales service.

Before you pay

  • Confirm the model number, regional version, menu languages, required apps, network compatibility, charger and plug.
  • Establish whether the item is new, used or refurbished, and inspect it before payment.
  • Check warranty coverage in your home country for that exact model. DJI’s standard service is region-based; Xiaomi international service applies only under its supported-model conditions.
  • Check airline battery rules and any destination restrictions for the product. Keep the original receipt.

When to walk away

Skip a purchase when the seller cannot explain the regional version or service coverage. Do not assume a phone, drone or camera has a global warranty.

Getting it home

Follow your airline’s current battery and cabin-baggage rules. Allow time for any required export and destination checks.

Prices, stock and refund eligibility vary by store. Use our total-cost calculator and confirm any refund with the seller.
